An Analysis of Smartphone Charge Pads

We use our smartphones daily, to download entertainment, make reservations, or locate the closest store. But smartphones don’t hold charge forever and making sure you have your charger as well as an open outlet can be annoying. Then you have to leave it connected for a long time to ensure it gets thoroughly charged.

But there is now an easier method to charge your device: a smartphone charging pad.

Charge your phone wirelessly

These flat pads, which resemble little mats, permit smartphone users to charge their phones wirelessly. What this means is no searching for an available outlet and no fumbling with tangled cords. Best of all, you can place several devices on your charge pads at the same time and charge them all simultaneously. Charge pads work with everything from smartphones and electronic readers to iPods, iPads, and digital cameras.

Have you ever thought about how these work? They use electro-magnetic induction charging to produce a magnetic field that provides power to the batteries of your smartphones, tablets, and other electronic devices.

Charge pads a technology in progress

Smartphone charge pads, though, haven’t exactly captured the imaginations of shoppers. There are a few explanations for this: First, today’s charge pads aren’t inexpensive. In some cases, they cost nearly as much as the gadgets that consumers wish to charge.

Another reason is that they take up space. Consumers who want to clear away the mess of cords don’t mind this, but this doesn’t benefit people aiming to create more space on their desk.

An improving wireless world

As technology improves we are certain to see smaller, more efficient, and less costly charging pads on the market. Sooner or later, my guess is that these will be must-have items.
