PC Specialist

This position is responsible for installing PC hardware and peripheral components, such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives. Loads and verifies correct operation of software packages, such as operating system, word processing and spreadsheet programs. Provides training and technical assistance to users. Identifies and resolves hardware, software and operator problems, makes minor repairs, or refers to service personnel.


Essential Functions Required
  • Set up and configure PCs, laptops, printers, and other equipment.
  • Review, recommend and perform computer hardware upgrades.
  • Diagnose problems and determine the proper action and perform “fixes” in a timely fashion.
  • Install memory, hard drives, network cards and other interface cards.
  • Configure and repair hardware and software at IT Consultant’s direction.
  • Support Network staff on projects as directed.
  • Recommend PC hardware and PC software to meet end user needs.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to user on basic PC functionality.
  • Locate new opportunities for ECC by visiting existing clients and obtaining new clients.
  • Maintain orderly, clean, and attractive working areas (both on-site at ECC and at client locations).
  • Present a professional, clean, well-groomed appearance.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Supervisory and/or Lead Responsibilities
  • There are no supervisory responsibilities.
Education & Work Experience
  • Associate’s degree in related field and/or demonstrated capability through previous experience and education to perform job responsibilities.
  • One (1) year experience in an IT support environment.
  • Six (6) months hardware installation, troubleshooting and repair.

  • Extensive experience with the following technolgies:
    • Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista
    • Microsoft Office XP, 2003 and 2007
    • Anti-virus and anti-spyware software
    • PC hardware
    • SOHO wired and wireless network equipment and configuration
  • Familiarity with the following technologies:
    • Server 2000, 2003, SBS 2000 and SBS 2003
    • Exchange 2000 & 2003
    • Remote Desktop & Terminal Server
    • PDA systems (Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, Palm)
    • Network topologies, protocols and equipment
  • Ability to train and support users of widely varying abilities
Certificate & Licenses
  • Current and valid driver’s license
  • A+, Microsoft Certification and/or Cisco training desired
Physical Demands
  • Sustain repetitive movement (motion) of wrists, hands and fingers
  • Lift and/or move up to 35 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Occasionally lift up to 115 pounds. Sit for extended periods of time
  • Talk as to express or exchange information and data by means of the spoken word
  • Hear detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound
  • Stoop and crawl in order to trouble shoot and install IT equipment
  • Specific vision abilities required including close vision and ability to differentiate colors (e.g. computer wires)
  • Must have the ability to operate an automobile to call upon clients

  • Present for core hours and responsive to occasional off hour client needs scheduled and unscheduled
Web Designer

This position is responsible for the development, deployment and ongoing maintenance of client web site. This includes overall navigation flow, layout of specific pages, and creation of individual graphic elements.


Essential Functions Required
  • Translate client business requirements into design and creative specifications
  • Execute web-based solutions including websites, micro-sites, HTML emails and online advertising elements
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to gather the objectives and goals of the project
  • Analyze, refine and improve existing services
  • Develop new services in close collaboration with client
  • Participate in efforts to improve quality of Web sites and other electronic publications
  • Ensure that all design elements, templates and finished solutions work within a variety of browser types and screen settings along with the constraints set by development and design
  • Research, assess and evaluate new and emerging technologies
  • Provide design elements, comps, templates, and finished solutions
  • Debug applications; develop testing activities and document requirements and code
  • Provide expert diagnostic, consulting and primary application support
  • Locate new opportunities for ECC by visiting existing clients and obtaining new clients
  • Maintain orderly, clean, and attractive working areas (both at ECC and on-site at client locations). Present a professional, clean, well-groomed appearance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

  • Coordinate peer level and junior level assistance as needed
Education & Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (e.g.: math, computer engineering) and/or demonstrated capability through previous experience and education to perform job responsibilities
  • Four (4) years experience in Web-based graphic design or web interface design

  • Experience with Miva or other ecommerce solutions
